Long gone are the days of eyeglasses holding back your fashion. Instead, frames are an accessory for expressing your personality. So whether you want something sleek to blend in or funky to stand out, the sky’s the limit.
We can help you find frames to show off your signature look. Make sure your prescription is updated with a recent eye exam.
Why Does Fit Matter?
Your eyeglasses are a practical tool for correcting your vision. But, like any tool, they sometimes need a few adjustments to do their job properly.
When your frames or lenses aren’t measured to fit your unique face shape, it can affect how well they function. As a result, you might find your glasses slipping or uncomfortable to wear.
Your lenses should be centered relative to your pupils for accurate vision correction. Skipping a fitting might mean incorrect pupillary distance measurements, which can cause:
- Eyestrain
- Headaches
- Blurred or distorted vision
Frames can also impact how the lenses sit relative to your eyes. Measurements for bridge width and temple arm length improve comfort and function. We can add nose pads for frames with too wide or slippery bridges to improve grip. Ensuring your glasses have adequate temple arm length can also prevent slipping off or sitting too high on your nose.
Misfitted frames are more than a minor annoyance. A bad fit can cause increased pressure on your ears, headaches, eye fatigue, blurred vision—and for style gurus—can make you look a little funny. Don’t settle for lopsided glasses. If you need a fitting for new frames or repairs for glasses that have seen better days, visit Pacific Pier Optometry.
